From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of heroes who will separate from the primary party to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—used the foes for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and warns that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as important members in the powerful family could assist the party reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s post-show segment, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Questers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can expect discovering which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
